Liz and Jack Gritter

Executive Director and Board President

The Gritters are passionate about equipping students for HIS purpose. Liz and Jack have been involved in student ministries for over 20 years as part of Northland Church and other Christian ministries in Central Florida. From leading retreats, participating in student camps to organizing and leading community service projects, the Gritters’ heart is to reach youth to help and equip them for a life lived for Christ. They have led over 22 student mission trips to Haiti, Kenya, and Ukraine between the two of them. They have also taken students to the Passion Conference in Atlanta, Georgia for the past four years.

Jack is the founder and president of Trinity Mortgage Company, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida. Liz served as a commercial property appraiser and a director of property management for 20 years in Florida and Georgia. They have three grown sons and four grandsons.

Ann Clark

Board Vice-President

Ann and her husband, Bob, have two daughters. Megan, their youngest, graduated from high school during 2020. The Clarks had a unique opportunity to see how God could work in a community during an interesting time in history. They were all honored to be part of Senior Life Prep during that season. Ann and Bob continue to serve as mentors. Bob loves to cook for the community and Ann serves on the Board of Directors.

Ann has served in various servant leadership roles within Northland Church and Community Bible Study since moving from Illinois in 2008, including Student Ministries.

Ann is passionate for others to see that the joy of the Lord is our strength.

 

Kim Koi

Board Secretary

Kim Koi has been in ministry with college students for over 25 years with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. She has been teaching a session for Senior Life Prep since the early 2000s, and has a deep desire to see high schoolers transition well into their next season. She joined the Life Prep Ministries board in 2020.

Kim lives in Daytona Beach, and enjoys being close to the water. She loves to travel, hike in the mountains, and read. She joined as a driver for her first Epic Trip in Spring 2024, and might be hooked for life.

Bud Abt

Board Treasurer

Bud Abt is a lifelong Floridian who grew up in Central Florida. He became a Christian through the ministry of Young Life while in high school and as a result he has a passion to support ministries that encourage young people. Bud has a Business degree from the University of Central Florida and worked for 40 years in business and ministries in operations and finance. He retired in 2020 and now brings his years of experience to Life Prep Ministries as a volunteer on the board to oversee the financial activities of the organization and help with many of the behind-the-scenes tasks of the ministry. He and his wife Cecilia have been married for 41 years and have two adult daughters.

Lisa Shaw

Board Member

Lisa has been involved in student ministries for over 15 years as part of Northland Church and just recently joined the YoungLife team. She has been a mentor with Life Prep Ministries since 2021. Her and her husband have led 12 mission trips to the Dominican Republic through International Community School where she is the Financial Administrator. She loves engaging students and helping them grow in their relationship with the Lord.

Lisa and Mike have 4 children, all who have gone through LifePrep Ministries. They are her best friends and her greatest joy. She enjoys paddle boarding, biking, hiking, pickleball, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends!!

Mike Shaw

Board Member

Mike has been an airline pilot for over 25 years. This gives him the opportunity to share Jesus far and wide. He loves people and adventures. He has been a mentor with Life Prep Ministries since 2021. He loves discipling students and helping them transition to college. He has also been involved in student ministries for over 15 years as part of Northland Church and just recently joined the YoungLife team. He fell in love with missions back in 2009 when his kids talked him into going on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. He and his wife have been leading high school mission trips to the Dominican Republic since then.

Mike and wife, Lisa, have 4 children ranging from ages 20 to 28. He enjoys scuba diving, pickleball, biking, traveling to new places, and all things food.
